The game could use some style. There are some obvious bugs here and there, but the look of it is kind of off for me. I would be glad if the UI was a bit more comprehensible and had better colors. Apart from that, nice job on your first unity game, it works after all.
You can try using hitboxes instead of sprite detection to avoid some problems and make the platforming better.

I’ve never coded or used Unity before, so this took me a few extra days- but I started it Monday, and 5 days later- I’m sharing this with the world, pretty awesome.
Please feel free to leave comments and suggestions for the next level. I’m already looking at interactive enemies, shooting mechanisms, multiple levels, and increased sound effects.
I hope you enjoyed playing it as much as I enjoyed learning the beginning phases of Unity and developing this game.
